Ingredients Information

Spelt flour

We mainly use spelt flour in our recipes. It is an ancient grain belonging to the wheat family but it is more 'pure' as it has not been overgrown like wheat. It also has a tough husk surrounding the spelt grain which means it is naturally protected against pollutants and insects. It also has more flavour and texture and it is high in vitamin B complex. It has both simple and complex carbohydrates and it has significantly more protein content than traditional wheat. There is a very small amount of gluten in spelt flour but the amount is so small that it is easily digestible and this makes it ideal for dogs who are gluten intolerant.
